Coils, Solenoids & Electromechanical Assemblies

Offering complete electromechanical assemblies, including coils and solenoids, Stork Kelch can meet your most complex need with quite-operating reliable parts.

Coils

Formed when a solid copper wire conductor is wound around a core or bobbin. A coil creates an inductor or electromagnet. One loop of wire is usually referred to as a turn, and a coil consists of one or more turns. The amount of turns, size of wire and shape of the coil produce different electrical properties. A completed coil assembly with taps is often called a winding.

Solenoids

A solenoid includes a coil of insulated or enameled wire and is normally wound on a rod-shaped form made of solid iron, solid steel, or powdered iron. These devices are used as electromagnets and as inductors in electronic circuits. They are usually used to direct motion, latching or other electrically controlled movements.

Electromechanical Assemblies

Most electromechanical products are assemblies of several components that may or may not include a coil or solenoid. They may include circuit boards, injected molded components, stamped or machined components, etc.
