Cold Forming
Cold forming is the use of mechanical presses to extrude a flat blank into the required shape. It provides the features traditionally provided by stamping yet with the following additional advantages:
- Improved dimensional capability
- Work hardening up to 3x base material properties
- The ability to use the part "as formed" and hence avoid unnecessary machining
Flow Forming
Flow forming is a process with military-driven quality now applied to powertrain component manufacture. Stork Kelch's principal offers the following benefits:
- Integration of the cold forming process to provide the optimum preform
- The ability to apply the most appropriate preform for the application
- A detailed knowledge of flow forming aluminum
- An interest in both high and low volume production opportunities
